THOMASCOOKHOTELS.COM LAUNCHED - GIVING INDEPENDENT AGENTS ACCESS TO ITS BEDSTOCK
Thomas Cook has launched two new sales portals, giving independent agents access to the company's substantial bed stock.
The company has unveiled thomascookhotels.com, a trade only web site with an inventory of 1,000's of properties - with 'per night' pricing, allowing total flexibility.
The portfolio of bed stock available on the site is from the Thomas Cook main charter brands, with Thomas Cook acting as the principal on all bookings. Work is already underway to integrate the stock of the former MyTravel charter brands into the service.
Agents can choose from a selection of quality and fully inspected accommodation, ranging from two-star to five-star hotels and apartments, in mass-market beach destinations such as the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Egypt.
Commenting on the move, Stephen Vaughan, head of sales and distribution for Thomas Cook's independent travel division, said: "Time and again independent agents have asked us to give them the ability to sell Thomas Cook accommodation in a totally flexible web environment and we are really pleased with what we have are now able to offer."
"The launch of thomascookhotels.com gives the trade direct access to our extensive accommodation with the security of the Thomas Cook brand " so our trade partners can book their customers a quality hotel or apartment at fantastic rates with total confidence.
"We do recognise agents want to package dynamically, and as a result designed a which is why we price 'per night' to allow any duration that customers request."
In a linked move, Thomas Cook has also unveiled the first XML accommodation feed from a major UK tour operator into the internal tour operating systems of travel retailers.
This innovation will offer all of the Thomas Cook accommodation - found on thomascookhotels.com
Thomas Cook has already agreed to supply the XML feed to key trade partners including CTTG, Hays Travel and Barrhead Travel.
As with thomascookhotels.com, Thomas Cook remains the principal on all accommodation transactions.
Stephen added: "Agents already know and love the accommodation as it is already sold in large numbers through our package business, so the fact that a number of high profile businesses have come onboard is a real testament to the popularity of our product."
