Taking The Credit At Card Awards: Thomas Cook takes the top spot for card design of the year.

The Card Awards, which recognise excellence and best practice in the card payments industry, awarded Thomas Cook with the Best Credit Card Design of the Year on 31st January 2008.  The joint venture credit card with Barclays Bank was launched in January 2007. With four creative designs, the leading travel company was recognised for offering customers the option to choose from a relaxing beach scene, a vibrant city shot, a cool skiing image or an artistic elephant picture for their card.

The prestigious awards, which have been running for three years, gathered more than 1300 industry leaders at The Grosvenor House in London on 31st January 2008.  At the ceremony, winners were announced in categories ranging from credit, debit, pre-paid and charge card issuers, co-brands, and banking acquirers in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Thomas Cook was also a finalist in the Best Affinity/Co-branded/Retail Credit Card Programme and the Best Credit Card Benefits Programme of the Year award categories.
