Thomas Cook Signs Up Motorists: As part of its 'Vote for an extra bank holiday' campaign.
Travel giants Thomas Cook has now taken to the roads with it latest bid to get Brits an extra Bank Holiday. From today, motorists will see a series of themed road signs go up around Birmingham to support Thomas Cook's 'Vote for an Extra Bank Holiday' campaign.
On Boxing Day, Thomas Cook, the nation's favorite travel company, launched a nationwide campaign to urge the Government to introduce a new Bank Holiday. Britons' get the least amount of bank holidays in Europe and Thomas Cook believe Brits deserve more.
Members of the public can now vote on-line (www.thomascook.com) or any of its 800 high street retail shops. And, for those who are a fan of Facebook - why not join the 'Vote for extra Bank Holiday' group - it already has over 1,000 members!
The signs - which are an amusing interpretation of classic roadwork's signs - will go up in Birmingham's busiest areas on the 28th and 29th December and stay into the New Year. With around 240,455 people commuting in and out of Birmingham every day, Thomas Cook hope these will encourage thousands to sign up to the petition.
Birmingham was one of five cities selected to feature the Thomas Cook signposts. The other cities were Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester and London.
