Free Wallet For Travellers From Terminal 5: Thomas Cook foreign exchange bureaux celebrate Heathrow's T5 opening

Travellers who will be taking off from the all-new T5 at Heathrow Airport, on March 27th, and plan to purchase their currency before they fly, should visit a Thomas Cook Foreign Exchange Bureau at the terminal, where they will receive a high quality leather passport wallet, free with every purchase.

There are nine Thomas Cook bureaux in total at the terminal, offering over 80 currencies on demand, covering all destinations served from T5. Customers can also pre-order their currency online at www.thomascook.com and collect it at one of the bureaux before they fly. As well as foreign currency, customers can also purchase travel insurance, apply for a Thomas Cook credit card and load money onto the new Cash Passport Card, which offers the security of Travellers' Cheques and the convenience of a debit card.

Melanie Whitehouse, director - financial services UK & Ireland, at Thomas Cook, said: "With so much to think about in the run up to a holiday or a business trip, things like foreign exchange often slip to the bottom of the list, as a last minute purchase at the airport. We are very excited to have nine locations offering our financial services at T5. With these bureaux, we can make it as convenient as possible for travellers to ensure they can get on their way complete with currency in their wallets."

In celebration of the opening of T5, the wallet comes complete with an illustrative history of Thomas Cook and the key events over the past 150 years that have pioneered travel and foreign exchange. Key highlights include:
· 1841 - the first scheduled trip, which was a train ride from Leicester to Loughborough
· 1845 - the creation of a 60-page booklet to accompany a trip - the first version of a holiday brochure
· 1874 - the production of a circular note - the forerunner to Travellers' Cheques
· 1908 - Thomas Cook becomes the first company to offer passenger air travel
· 1990 - Thomas Cook becomes the world's largest foreign exchange retailer

Thomas Cook already operates eight Foreign Exchange Bureaux at Manchester Airport and all its high street travel stores also offer Foreign Exchange services.
