THOMAS COOK'S STAR PERFORMERS GET THE CUBA LIBRE TREATMENT
Thomas Cook recently recognised and rewarded their top performing branch managers, who have earned 'A Performer' status, with a luxury seven night trip to Cuba. The tour, which took place at the beginning of May, enabled the high achievers to experience first hand, the sights, hotels and culture of one of Thomas Cook's popular long haul destinations.
Over 120 'A Performing' Thomas Cook branch managers, three regional sales managers and two heads of sales for Thomas Cook Retail joined the company's director of product, Tony Hopkins; and executive director of distribution, Simon Robinson; plus other representatives from the product, yield and trade relations team, to celebrate their achievements. The group travelled on Thomas Cook's new long haul aircraft, which includes the 33-inch, increased seat pitch.
Simon Robinson said: "This was our first 'A Performers' trip to be organised since our merger with My Travel and we felt it was the best way to demonstrate how important and truly valued our staff are. The tour was specially organised to celebrate their outstanding achievements in the last year, recognising and rewarding them for their accomplishments. It was Thomas Cook's way of saying thank you to those who have put their heart and soul into their jobs."
The trip was not all relaxation in the sunshine though; the 'A Performers' attended a supplier workshop where they learned more about the hotels and attractions that Cuba has to offer. For a realistic view of Cuba, where Thomas Cook is the number one UK tour operator, they also enjoyed local excursions, beach parties, salsa dancing lessons, a trip to Havana and spa treatments. To top it off, they enjoyed a catamaran trip to Cayo Blanco and were surprised with the opportunity to snorkel and swim with Dolphins along the way.
Simon Robinson continued: "This trip has enabled our star performers to experience first hand the holidays they sell on a daily basis. We also wanted to ensure that there was plenty of 'me time' incorporated into the trip, so that everyone could relax and reap the rewards of all their hard work."
The party stayed at the Melia Las Dunas hotel in Cayo Santa Maria, the Paradisus Princesa del Mar in Varadero and the Hotel Nacional de Cuba in Havana, all of which are featured in the Thomas Cook Tropical Shores and Cuba brochure.
