VISIT LONDON AND THOMAS COOK ANNOUNCE THREE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP: Unique new service that combines tourist information with foreign exchange
Visit London, the capital's official visitor organisation, and Thomas Cook have today announced a new, three-year foreign exchange exchange partnership - the first of its kind for both organisations.
Under the new, unique designation Thomas Cook becomes Visit London's Official Foreign Exchange Partner, visitors to the capital will be able to exchange their foreign currency, gather tourist information and collect money saving offers all under one roof. Ten Thomas Cook retail stores across central London will offer this service which aims to increase and improve the visitor experience in London.
Beginning this month visitors to these Thomas Cook stores will also receive a jointly branded voucher booklet containing extensive offers on restaurants, entertainment, and popular attractions in London.
Visit London Chief Executive, James Bidwell, said: "London is the number one city destination in the world and last year welcomed a record 15.6 million overseas visitors. From our great parks to museums, galleries and iconic landmarks, London's visitor offer is second to none. However, it is crucial that visitors to London are provided with the best travel information and advice during their stay.
Our partnership with Thomas Cook means visitors can exchange currency at outlets they can trust, that are endorsed by London's official visitor organisation, and importantly, can save on their holiday spending by taking advantage of some great offers."
Thomas Cook Director, Financial Services UK & Ireland, Melanie Whitehouse, said: "As the nation's favourite name in travel, Thomas Cook's foreign exchange bureaux offer tourists an unrivalled service. This new partnership means that not only do we offer currency at competitive exchange rates commission-free, but by giving visitors the free money-saving booklet we can really ensure tourists get the very best out of their stay whilst in London."
